Hello jb,

of course there is a sense behind the 'p' (park) position also: You can leave your tail light on when you're parking in the night on a street with heavy traffic without anyone bumping into it right away. Shouldn't do this for a long time of course...

I have made use of it at another occasion once: On the freeway, I ran out of gas (my petcock is broken preventing me from using the spare...) on a freeway. It was night. To my luck, the next gas station was only 4 km away, so I pushed the #$%*@! bike
along the freeway with the tail light on, not having to spend all the battery's power for head light and ignition. |-)

During the last 500 m, I even had a police escort driving behind me as fast as I could push (5 km/h maybe), of course with their head and emergency lights on so that everybody could now see my misery - grrreat! gggrrrrmmmmpffff... ;-))

Bert.
